Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Our Commitment

Core Skills and Training is committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and all forms of exploitation within our organisation and supply chains.

We recognise that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to acting ethically, conducting business with integrity and implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against modern slavery in all aspects of our operations.

Our Organisation

Core Skills and Training delivers training, employability, education and workforce development programmes across the United Kingdom. We work with learners, employers, subcontractors, suppliers and partner organisations to provide high-quality training and employment opportunities.

Our Policies

To support our commitment, we have implemented policies and procedures that promote ethical business practices and protect individuals from exploitation, including:

  • Safeguarding Policy
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
  • Recruitment and Selection Policy
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Staff Code of Conduct
  • Supplier and Partner Due Diligence Procedures

These policies are regularly reviewed and communicated to staff and relevant stakeholders.

Recruitment Practices

We are committed to fair and transparent recruitment practices. We undertake appropriate right-to-work checks, verify identity documentation and ensure that all employees and contractors are employed voluntarily and in accordance with UK employment legislation.

We do not tolerate any form of forced labour, bonded labour or human trafficking.

Supply Chain Management

While our supply chains are considered relatively low risk, we expect all suppliers, subcontractors and partner organisations to uphold the same high standards of ethical conduct and compliance with applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.

Where appropriate, we undertake due diligence checks on suppliers and partners and reserve the right to terminate relationships where concerns regarding modern slavery or unethical practices are identified.

Training and Awareness

We promote awareness of safeguarding, exploitation, modern slavery and human trafficking amongst our staff and associates. Staff are encouraged to report concerns and are provided with guidance on recognising signs of exploitation and abuse.

Reporting Concerns

Any concerns relating to modern slavery, human trafficking or exploitation can be reported through our safeguarding procedures or whistleblowing processes. All concerns will be treated seriously and investigated appropriately.

Continuous Improvement

Core Skills and Training is committed to continually reviewing and improving its policies, procedures and practices to minimise the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our organisation and supply chains.

This statement is reviewed annually and approved by senior management.
